About the role: Accountant
Accountants record a company's financial transactions, keep its books accurate and produce the figures managers, auditors and tax authorities rely on. Typical roles include general accountant, accounts payable or receivable accountant, cost accountant and senior accountant.
Every type of employer in the UAE needs accountants, from family-owned trading groups and free zone companies to hotels, construction contractors, schools, hospitals and government entities. Since VAT was introduced in 2018 and corporate tax in 2023, accounting teams also handle tax records and filings with the Federal Tax Authority, which has raised demand for accountants who understand UAE tax rules.
Most companies report under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and use ERP or accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Tally, QuickBooks or Zoho Books. Employers value accuracy, deadline management and experience with month-end and year-end close.

- Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger

- ERP or accounting software experience
- Advanced Excel
- Attention to detail and reliability
