About finance, accounting and audit jobs
Finance, accounting and audit jobs cover the people who record transactions, report results, control costs and manage risk: accountants, financial analysts, auditors, tax specialists, financial controllers and finance managers. Every company in the UAE needs these skills, from small trading firms to multinational regional headquarters and government entities.
Demand has grown with the introduction of VAT at 5% in 2018 and federal corporate tax at 9% for financial years starting on or after 1 June 2023, which created needs for tax compliance, bookkeeping and reporting across all businesses. Audit and advisory firms, family business groups, real estate developers, retailers, logistics companies, energy companies and government-related entities all recruit finance teams. Many regional finance functions for the Middle East are based in Dubai.
Employers ask for strong Excel and ERP skills (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics), knowledge of IFRS, and increasingly familiarity with UAE tax rules. There is no personal income tax in the UAE, so salaries are not subject to income tax deductions.
