About the role: Communications and PR
Communications and PR professionals manage how an organisation speaks to the public, the media and its own employees. Roles include communications officer, PR executive, content writer, events coordinator and corporate communications manager.
Government and semi-government entities in the UAE have large communications departments, and public relations agencies, event organisers, real estate developers, airlines, hotel groups, universities and cultural institutions also recruit. Major exhibitions and conferences at venues such as the Dubai World Trade Centre and ADNEC in Abu Dhabi create regular demand for event and content roles.
Excellent writing in English is essential, and Arabic is often required, especially for government communication and media relations with Arabic-language outlets. Discretion is part of the job: communication professionals must be careful with sensitive topics and follow the UAE's media regulations.
