About the role: Quality engineer
Quality engineers and QA/QC staff make sure that products, materials and works meet specifications, standards and client requirements. In the UAE, they work on construction and infrastructure projects, in oil and gas and petrochemicals, manufacturing, food production, aviation maintenance and third-party inspection companies.
On projects, QA/QC engineers prepare inspection and test plans, check materials and workmanship, and close out non-conformance reports before handover. In factories and plants, the role focuses on process control, audits and quality management systems such as ISO 9001. Discipline-specific roles are common: civil, MEP, mechanical, welding, coating or electrical QA/QC.
Recruiters value a relevant engineering degree, experience on comparable projects and recognised certifications, for example lead auditor qualifications or welding and non-destructive testing certifications for inspectors. Knowledge of the standards specified by clients, such as ASME, API or BS EN, is often decisive.
