Remote and hybrid: our advice
Remote and hybrid jobs let you work all or part of the time away from the employer's premises. In the UAE, remote work is one of the work patterns recognised by Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021, and many employers now offer hybrid arrangements that combine office days with days working from home.
Fully remote roles are most common in software development, data, design, digital marketing, content writing, customer support and some finance functions. Most UAE employers still expect staff to live in the country and come to the office regularly, so check how many days are remote, whether the role is open to candidates abroad and which visa or permit applies. The UAE also offers a remote work visa for people employed by companies outside the country.
Be careful with remote job offers that seem too good to be true. Legitimate employers do not ask for fees, bank details or payments before an interview. Share personal documents only once you have verified the employer; personal data is protected by Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021.
